Biography

Daniel Agauas is a CFA charterholder. He has expertise in the assessment and quantification of economic damages in commercial disputes, as well as experience in the valuation of closely held businesses. Daniel has been engaged in matters relating to shareholder disputes, lost profit calculations, and breach of contracts.

Daniel’s involvement has covered the entire litigation support process, including discovery assistance, complex data analysis, damage calculations, and presenting conclusions in written reports. In addition, he is adept at financial statement analysis, market research, and developing financial modeling tools. His experience covers a wide range of industries, including automotive, healthcare, construction, and steel.

Daniel’s business valuation experience includes valuations for shareholder disputes, estate and gift tax purposes, mergers and acquisitions, divorces, and business planning. The valuations have encompassed non-marketable, controlling and minority interests in corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies. Daniel is proficient with multiple valuation methods: discounted cash flow analysis, capitalization of earnings method, guideline public company method, and comparable transaction analysis.

Daniel joined Crawford & Winiarski in July 2013. Prior to joining the firm, Daniel provided litigation support and business valuation services at a global public accounting and consulting firm since 2007. He also performed market research analysis for companies seeking to export their products and services as an intern at the Department of Commerce.

Daniel is a graduate of Oakland University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration concentrating in finance. He is a member of the CFA Society Detroit. Daniel is a past recipient of the Michigan Tutor of the Year Award.
